Gaining levels and attributes
You gain levels by simply fighting and killing people. Thats it. The more dameage you do the more experience you get and gradually your levels go up. At level 25, you gain a familiar, a bird or creature of some sort that follows you around and launches a ball of energy with your normal attacks. At level 50 and 75, these familiars improve.
As for gaining attributes(strength, speed, armor, and magic), you can purchase them for 800 gold, but also they go up 5 points each with every level you gain, except for your primary attribute, which goes up 8 points per level. The warrior's main attribute is strength, valkyrie's is armor, archer's is speed, and wizard's is magic.
Spending gold
Almost the ONLY thing I ever spend gold on is attributes. They are the most important thing you can buy. I usually dont raise my primary attribute, because it raises so quickly, but I try to raise my other attributes somewhat equally. ALWAYS remember to sell things you dont use. I usually sell of my fire amulet and fire breath, because they arent too useful and are plentiful.
